Cushman & Wakefield have announced the successful placement of the French sporting goods chain Decathlon's new store at the Alto do Parque building on Avenida António Augusto de Aguiar, in Lisbon. The store will open in November and will be the first Decathlon outlet in the city centre, occupying around 2,000 square meters of GLA next to department store El Corte Inglés.
Other tenants at the retail section of the Alto de Parque building, owned by a German investment fund, include Nespresso and Zilian, while its 500 square meters of office space will be home to the Portuguese headquearters of a multinational advertising firm by the end of the year.
"This has been a complex deal involving negotiations with Decathlon and a complete redesign of the Nespresso Boutique to accommodate the new tenants. We are very happy to have Decathlon as tenants opening their first city store at Alto do Parque, where they will be closer to customers in Lisbon," said André Navarro, associate and Head of Retail Asset Management of Cushman & Wakefield, who manages the retail section at Alto do Parque and represented the owners in this deal.
