On June 27 C&W organized the third charity lunch to help raise funds for Associação Protetora das Florinhas da Rua (Florinhas). The event took place at the institution's current home in Santo Antão do Tojal, Loures.
Associação Protetora das Florinhas da Rua (“Street Flowers”) was established in 1917 with the purpose of supporting young girls, rescuing them from situations of extreme poverty and vulnerability. Today, the institution is home to children of both sexes, coming from dysfunctional families, usually referred there by order of the Family Court or the Child Protection. The house functions as a surrogate family, and children stay for as long as it
takes to establish a safe and nurturing environment in their biological families – which in some cases never happens. Florinhas da Rua is currently home to about 20 children and young adults, aged between 10 and 17.
Cushman & Wakefield has sponsored Florinhas since 2007* with donations, fundraising events, support for professional integration of adolescents through some work placements as well as weekend activities organized by C&W for all children and adolescents with the participation of C&W staff.
The charity event was attended by many of our long term clients and C&W staff who are supporting the cause with the participationof thechildren and employees who are part of the institution.
The money raised will help equip Florinhas’ new house which is currently under construction.
