C&W recently announced that it has been reappointed by Rockspring to manage the Forum Barreiro and Forum Castelo Branco shopping centres.

According to André Navarro, associate and responsible for retail centre management at Cushman & Wakefield in Portugal, “C&W has managed the Barreiro and Castelo Branco shopping centres on behalf of the owner, Rockspring, since 2010. We are extremely satisfied with the recognition of our performance for these properties, and have managed to achieve important targets, despite always operating in a depressed economy. The Forum Barreiro shopping centre currently has an occupancy rate of 95% and Forum Castelo Branco 97%, where one month before its sixth anniversary the latter has renewed contracts for a gross leasable area (ABL) of 90% (22% with new brands that have signed up in the last 12 months)”.

Opened in November 2008, Forum Barreiro has an ABL of 17,500 m2 and has 109 stores on 2 floors, including three anchor stores - Worten, Sport Zone and C&A and seven stores of average size, including the fashion brands belonging to Inditex group - Bershka, Stadivarius, Lefties and Pull & Bear. The Centre also has a Pingo Doce supermarket, 12 restaurants, 4 cinema screens and more than 700 covered parking spaces. Located in the city centre, Forum Barreiro has some 220,000 consumers within a 20-minute catchment area.

Open since 2007, Forum Castelo Branco is located in the outskirts of the city and has an ABL of 18,300 m2.  It has 74 shops on 2 floors, boasting anchor stores like H&M (opened in December), Zara, C&A, Worten and Sport Zone. The shopping centre also has a Pingo Doce hypermarket occupying 4,650m2. Forum Castelo Branco also has a restoration zone with 15 units and 400 seated places and a parking lot on the surface, with around 1000 spaces, of which 400 will be covered by the end of this year

This department currently has 32 employees, 31 office buildings and 6 shopping centres under management, totalling an area of over 340,000 m2 and annual revenue of 45 million Euros. In addition to the Barreiro and Castelo Branco shopping centres, the team is also responsible for managing Bragança Shopping, Aveiro Shopping Centre, Portimão Retail Centre and Galerias Alto do Parque.
