C&W was responsible for the opening of the 16th A Padaria Portuguesa, a bakery chain which began its activities in 2010. The place selected was Torre Zen, a building which is located in the prime zone of Parque das Nações, in the middle of Avenida D. João II. C&W acted on behalf of the property owner, a fund managed by Standard Life Investments.
The concept has grown significantly in the city of Lisbon over the last three years and the aim is to keep this pace. The shop, which opened in the end of June, continues the logic of expanding a trademark that focuses on the proximity with the public, by developing a concept of local bakeries.
A Padaria Portuguesa offers more than 30 types of top quality fresh bread, a wide range of pastries, shop-made cakes and biscuits, and delicious sandwiches which are served at lunch-time. The decoration combines contemporary image with traditional details.
According to Mafalda Cotta, from the C&W retail department says: “Parque das Nações has registered a growing demand from national and international operators. The combination of residences and a high density of office buildings influenced the owners of A Padaria Portuguesa to select this zone of the city”.
The building, Torre Zen, has been managed by Cushman & Wakefield’s Property Management Department since 2003, and has a total of 21,000 m2 divided into 13 floors of offices, 5 parking areas and 3 commercial spaces on the ground floor. The Yellow Pages, UHU and TNT are some of the office tenants at this benchmark building.
