The Challenge

Cushman & Wakefield was instructed by EVRET to provide Project Management, Site Supervision and Management and Health and Safety Coordination services for the Évora Retail Park and future Évora Shopping Centre (total GLA of 26.000 m2).

The Solution

Step 1: The planning process for this project lasted some 2 years and involved many negotiations with the Évora City Council. The strategy employed on this project meant that construction commenced in July 2010 and was completed in December that same year, using an adapted form of a Design and Build contract.

Step 2: The concept, overall design of the scheme and the process of approval with the Évora City Council has been successfully completed.

Step 3: The value engineering, cost analysis process and contract negotiations with a pre selected, design and build contractor, have been successfully completed and the first phase of contract was signed and work commenced. We will provide Project Management, Site Supervision and Health and Safety Coordination services.

The Results

Retail Park

Ambitious works program of 5 months, including construction of the commercial units, infrastructures, parking and access roads and roundabout. Completed on time and within budget.

Shopping Centre

Construction to be completed by November, 2012. The use of an adapted design and build contract model allowed flexibility in order to commence the work in separate phases.
